✦ Yard Signs & Rigid Boards template
Orbit · Wedding & events
A large disc or ring sets the centre of gravity and the type is arranged around it.
Set in Deco wide on the Wedding & events palette — a vintage pairing drawn for wellness & spa. The canvas is 18 × 12", the trim size the press cuts to, with the bleed and the safety margin already in place.

What you can change
Everything. The template opens as ordinary layers — headline, supporting lines, contacts, rules and blocks of colour — so you rewrite the words, swap the palette for your own brand colours, drop your logo in place of the mark, and move anything that sits wrong. The placeholder wording is deliberately the length of real copy, so a layout that holds here holds with your text too.
When it looks right, the artwork travels with you to Yard Signs or any other yard signs & rigid boards in the catalogue, where stock, quantity and turnaround are priced live. We proof every job in Sun Valley before it goes on press.
How this file has to be built
- Bleed 0.125" · safety 0.125"
- Backgrounds run 0.125" past the cut line so trimming never opens a white sliver; anything that must survive stays 0.125" inside it. The studio canvas is the cut line itself — magenta edge — and the dashed guide inside it is the safety margin.
- 150 DPI at final size
- Large format is read from a distance, so 150 DPI in size is the honest number — more is wasted file, not sharper print. One side or both, your choice at checkout.
- White underbase layer
- These ride as separate masks, not as part of the artwork: 100% black where the layer lands, white where it does not. Design the ink in the studio and send the mask alongside it.
- Keep 2" clear of the edge
- Grommets, pole pockets, hems and frame lips all eat the border. Type that close is hidden by the hardware, not by the press.
- · Coroplast, foam board, PVC, styrene and Dibond print through a White underbase on the flatbed.
- · Grommets sit ~1 in from the edge — keep art 2 in clear on any panel that will be hung.
- · An H-stake covers the bottom centre of the panel; leave it free of small type.

- How many words fit on a yard sign?
- Fewer than you want. At 18 × 12 inches, a driver has about two seconds: one headline, one phone number or web address, and nothing else. Every extra line shrinks the rest.
- Which board should I order?
- Coroplast for temporary outdoor signs on stakes, foam board for indoor display, PVC or styrene for a rigid indoor panel, Dibond for permanent outdoor signage that has to stay flat for years.
- Do I design one side or two?
- Two, if the sign is staked where people pass from both directions — a blank back is a wasted impression. Same-design double-sided costs little more than single.
