Signage & Front Signs in Glendale, CA

Retail in Glendale sets a high bar. With the Americana at Brand and the Brand Blvd corridor drawing steady crowds, shops and restaurants here compete on polish, and your front sign is the first thing a shopper judges. Angels Print produces signage and front signs that look at home next to Glendale's busiest storefronts.

We help a wide range of local businesses: boutiques and retailers with storefront and window signage, restaurants and cafes with menu boards, hours decals, and sidewalk A-frames, and salons and service shops with branded entrance graphics. Glendale's large small-business community keeps us busy with everything from a single new sign to a full refresh.

There is a strong corporate side to the city too, with offices and professional firms along and around Brand. For them we produce lobby and reception signs, dimensional logo walls, suite and floor directories, ADA-compliant wayfinding, and tenant signage that keeps office buildings looking sharp and easy to navigate.

Whatever the project, we proof before we produce. Bring your own artwork and we will match it to spec, or let us lay it out so the lettering and proportions work properly at full sign size. Signage usually turns around quickly once your art is approved, and we will give you a straight answer on timing.

Glendale is not one street. A shop on Brand Boulevard near the Americana is read by someone on foot from twenty feet away, at walking speed, with time to look. A suite on San Fernando Road or Glenoaks is read from a lane of traffic doing forty, by a driver who has one glance to confirm they are at the right building. Those two readers want different signs, and most of the mistakes we see come from ordering the wrong one for the frontage you actually have.

The rough working number for legibility is one inch of capital letter height per ten feet of viewing distance, and more if the reader is moving. Go stand where your customer is. On a downtown Glendale block where people park in a structure and arrive on foot, that distance might be twenty-five feet of sidewalk — three-inch letters do real work there, and you have room for a second line.

On a corridor where the reader is in traffic, the distance is a hundred feet or more and closing fast. Now you are at ten inches of letter height and you get your name, nothing else. Every extra word you add is a word that forces the rest smaller, and a sign that is fully readable at a red light is not the same as a sign that is readable while moving past it.

Angels Print is a short drive from Glendale in neighboring Sun Valley, so in-person proofing and pickup are simple, which is ideal for larger rigid signs. Prefer delivery? Delivery to Glendale starts at $50, even large rigid signs. Tell us about your storefront or office and we will help your Glendale business stand out.
