What you can change

How this file has to be built
- Bleed 0.125" · safety 0.125"
- Backgrounds run 0.125" past the cut line so trimming never opens a white sliver; anything that must survive stays 0.125" inside it. The studio canvas is the cut line itself — magenta edge — and the dashed guide inside it is the safety margin.
- 300 DPI at final size
- Small format is read at arm's length, so photos and logos need the full 300. Printed on one side.
- White underbase layer · Foil mask · Raised spot UV mask
- These ride as separate masks, not as part of the artwork: 100% black where the layer lands, white where it does not. Design the ink in the studio and send the mask alongside it.
- · Clear matte and clear gloss vinyl need a White layer under every element that must stay opaque.
- · Contour cut tolerance is about 1/16 in — avoid thin even borders that expose the drift.
- · Sheet sizes (8.5 × 11, 8.5 × 5.5, 8.5 × 3.5) are the sheet, not the individual sticker.

- What is the difference between die-cut and kiss-cut?
- Die-cut goes through sticker and backing, so each piece is a separate shape. Kiss-cut cuts only the vinyl and leaves the backing intact, which gives you a square card with a peelable shape on it — easier to hand out and to mail.
- Why does my design on clear vinyl look washed out?
- Because CMYK ink is translucent. Anything printed on clear needs a White layer underneath to be opaque. Order clear vinyl with white ink and supply the white shape as a separate 100% K mask.
- Do sheet sizes mean the sticker or the sheet?
- The sheet. 8.5 × 11 is a full letter-size sheet that can hold dozens of kiss-cut shapes; the individual sticker size is whatever you lay out on it.
