✦ Short-run catalogs without a print broker
Magazine & Catalog Printing in Sun Valley, CA
Most catalog printing is quoted at a thousand copies because the shop quoting it is a broker sending the job somewhere else. Angels Print stitches booklets on its own equipment in Sun Valley, so twenty-five copies of a magazine, a seasonal catalog, a lookbook or an event program is an ordinary job rather than an exception. Interiors run on 100# gloss, matte or uncoated text, covers on heavier stock with optional lamination, and page counts go in multiples of four. The price ladder below is the live one — it is computed from the same engine that charges the card at checkout.

What you get with Magazine & Catalog Printing
- Short runs from 25 copies, because the stitching happens here and not at a broker's partner plant
- Full-bleed images across the gutter, with imposition handled in-house so spreads line up after folding
- Heavier laminated covers on a lighter text interior — the standard magazine build, not an upcharge surprise
- Reprints from the same file at the same price ladder, so a quarterly catalog does not need re-setup each issue
- Matched collateral: the same artwork onto rack cards, postcards or a pocket folder in the same run

Questions about Magazine & Catalog Printing
Do you really print twenty-five copies?
Yes. The stitcher is in our shop, so a run of twenty-five costs us setup and paper rather than a broker's minimum. It is the normal way to test a catalog before committing to a thousand.
Can you do perfect binding instead of staples?
Saddle stitch is what we run in-house, and it is the right binding up to roughly seventy-two pages. Above that the spine stops lying flat and perfect binding is the correct answer — send the page count through the quote form and we will price it out rather than staple something that should not be stapled.
How do I get an image to run across the middle of a spread?
Send single pages with full 1/8" bleed on all four edges and place the image so it bleeds off the inside edge of both pages. We handle the imposition. Do not pre-build spreads — that is how the gutter ends up misaligned.
Where does an advertisement in someone else's magazine get placed?
That is a different job and we do it too — see media placement, which books the space in a publication you do not own and prepares the artwork to that publisher's trim and deadline.
