Why is a folded brochure quoted instead of priced online?
Because the fold is the cost, and the catalogue has no SKU for it yet. A tri-fold and a Z-fold on the same sheet at the same quantity are different prices, and the stock changes it again. Send quantity, stock and fold and you get a firm number the same day — it is a quote, not a runaround.
How many pages can a saddle-stitch booklet have?
Multiples of four, because each folded sheet makes four pages. Eight pages is the practical minimum and around seventy-two is where the spine stops sitting flat — past that, perfect binding is the better answer and we will say so.
Should I send spreads or single pages?
Single pages, in reading order, one PDF. We impose them for the press ourselves. Sending pre-imposed spreads is the most common way a booklet comes back with its pages in the wrong order.
