How this file has to be built
- Bleed 0.125" · safety 0.125"
- Backgrounds run 0.125" past the cut line so trimming never opens a white sliver; anything that must survive stays 0.125" inside it. The studio canvas is the cut line itself — magenta edge — and the dashed guide inside it is the safety margin.
- 150 DPI at final size
- Large format is read from a distance, so 150 DPI in size is the honest number — more is wasted file, not sharper print. Printed on one side.
- · Photos placed at 150 dpi in the finished size are fine; upscaled phone snapshots are not — the studio warns you before export.

- Why is 150 dpi enough for a poster?
- Viewing distance. A poster is read from a few feet away, where the eye cannot resolve more than roughly 150 dots per inch at size. Doubling the file size buys nothing but a slower upload.
- Do I need a laminate?
- Indoors, no. Laminate is worth it where the poster gets handled, wiped down or sits in direct sun — it stops scuffing and slows fading.
