Posters templates
Posters are printed on wide-format at 150 dpi in the finished size, which is the honest resolution for something read from two feet away or more — a 36 × 48 inch file at 300 dpi would be 186 megapixels for no visible gain. What matters far more is the size of the headline: these layouts are set so the main line survives being seen from across a room.

100 starting layouts, drawn for 24 × 36"
Each one opens in the studio as editable layers. The wording is a placeholder — replace it with yours and the layout holds.

Sizes we print
5 sizes in 3 proportions — a layout survives a change of size, not a change of proportion, which is why the grid above is drawn for the size marked below.

How this file has to be built
- Bleed 0.125" · safety 0.125"
- Backgrounds run 0.125" past the cut line so trimming never opens a white sliver; anything that must survive stays 0.125" inside it. The studio canvas is the cut line itself — magenta edge — and the dashed guide inside it is the safety margin.
- 150 DPI at final size
- Large format is read from a distance, so 150 DPI in size is the honest number — more is wasted file, not sharper print. Printed on one side.
- · Photos placed at 150 dpi in the finished size are fine; upscaled phone snapshots are not — the studio warns you before export.
What it costs printed
Prices are the catalogue entry point for each item, computed by the same engine that charges at checkout. Stock, finish, size and quantity move the number — the configurator on each page shows it live.
Posters questions
- Why is 150 dpi enough for a poster?
- Viewing distance. A poster is read from a few feet away, where the eye cannot resolve more than roughly 150 dots per inch at size. Doubling the file size buys nothing but a slower upload.
- Do I need a laminate?
- Indoors, no. Laminate is worth it where the poster gets handled, wiped down or sits in direct sun — it stops scuffing and slows fading.
