Thin & Sheet Metal Laser Cutting in Los Angeles, CA
Metal Laser Cutting uses a high-power fiber laser to slice mild steel, stainless, aluminum and brass to your exact vector drawing with a kerf under a hair's breadth and no tooling to fabricate. Send a DXF, DWG or vector PDF and parts come back deburred and ready to finish, mount or weld — brackets, panels, shims, prototypes and flat-cut letters alike. Thin-gauge sheet is everyday work on the same bed as plate: shims, spacers, diaphragms, faceplates and stencils are cut without a die, so one prototype part and a nested production batch run from the same drawing. Angels Print runs the laser in-house in Sun Valley — inside the city of Los Angeles — alongside its sign shop, so a run of parts and the signage around it come from one supplier.

We clean up your DXF or AI outlines, apply kerf compensation, and confirm gauge and material.
- 2
Nest and cut
Parts are nested tight on the sheet and cut on the fiber laser, with edge quality checked against the proof.
- 3
Deburr and finish
Edges are deburred, then parts ship raw or go out for powder coat, brushing, or clear coat.

Questions about Metal Laser Cutting
What thickness and metals can you cut?
Our fiber laser handles mild and carbon steel up to about 1/2 inch, plus stainless, aluminum, and brass in thinner gauges. Send the material and thickness with your file and we'll confirm it's within range before cutting.
What file format should I send?
Vector outlines work best: DXF or DWG are ideal, and we also accept AI, EPS, SVG, or vector PDF. Convert text to outlines and keep everything as closed paths so the laser reads a clean cut line.
Do the cut edges need finishing?
Fiber-laser edges come out clean with a light heat-affected zone; we deburr every part as standard. From there you can leave it raw or add brushing, primer, powder coat, or clear coat to prevent rust on steel.
How thin a gauge can you cut?
Thin sheet is the easy end for a fiber laser — there is less material to pierce, so thin-gauge steel, stainless, aluminum and brass cut fast and with very little heat left in the part. The practical limit comes from the drawing rather than from the sheet: the smallest feature we hold is about 0.03 in and parts come off at ±0.005 in. Send the gauge together with the tightest slot, hole or web on the part and we will confirm it is in range before cutting.
What thin sheet metal parts do you cut?
Shims, spacers, diaphragms, faceplates, stencils, cover plates, brackets and thin decorative panels — anything that is a flat profile in sheet. The laser cuts straight from your vector outlines, so there is no die to build: a part that would need tooling somewhere else is only a file here.
Can you cut a single part, or is there a minimum quantity?
One part is a normal order. Nothing has to be tooled up first — the setup is your drawing — so a prototype and a production run use the same file. Cutting starts at $85 per part including setup and material; at quantity, parts are nested tight on the sheet, which trims scrap and brings the per-part price down.
Can the same part be cut and laser-marked in one setup?
Yes. Cutting and our engraving and etching run on lasers in the same shop, so send the outline and the artwork as one vector drawing on separate layers and the part is cut and marked from that single file. A legend, serial number or logo then lands square to the holes instead of being aligned to holes somebody else drilled.
Do you cut for businesses across Los Angeles, or only nearby?
The laser is in our Sun Valley shop, inside the city of Los Angeles, and we cut for businesses throughout the San Fernando Valley and greater LA. Finished parts can be picked up here once they pass QC, and standard-size U.S. orders over $100 ship free by ground if you would rather not drive.
How fast can I get cut parts?
Standard turnaround is 3-5 business days once the material and the cut file are confirmed, with 24-hour rush available. Clean closed vector paths with the gauge stated are what keep a job on the fast track — most delay starts in file prep, not at the laser.
