Which Yard Sign Size Should You Choose?

Which Yard Sign Size Should You Choose?

Start with your main message. A 24 x 18-inch yard sign is a useful starting point for a rectangular layout; Angels Print also lists 12 x 12, 18 x 12 and 24 x 24-inch sizes. Choose your yard sign size to fit the wording and available space. Printed sides and hardware need separate checks.

Dimensions here mean width x height in inches. A 24 x 18-inch panel measures 24 inches across and 18 inches tall. That's the panel size only. It doesn't describe the installed height above the ground or the length of an H-stake.

What is the standard yard sign size?

For a rectangular design, compare 24 x 18 inches with the smaller 18 x 12-inch option. Both appear under Angels Print’s Yard Signs. There isn't one catalogue standard. You'll find several preset dimensions, so choose according to what fits at the finished size.

Place the main message first. If adding a phone number forces the headline to shrink too far, shorten the copy or compare a larger panel. More information isn't always useful. The wording still needs room.

How do the listed yard sign dimensions compare?

12 x 12 inches: This is the smallest of the four listed presets. Check the actual lettering size. A square logo may fit neatly, while a long business name can need several lines within the same panel.

18 x 12 inches: You get more horizontal room than the 12 x 12-inch square, with no increase in height. Try a short headline above one supporting line. Check the gap between them. The smaller height can limit that separation.

24 x 18 inches: This adds 6 inches in both directions compared with 18 x 12 inches. Give the main lettering more room. You can enlarge it or increase the space around it, but filling every added inch with copy defeats the reason for moving up.

24 x 24 inches: The width matches 24 x 18 inches, with 6 inches of extra height. Consider it for artwork that stacks vertically, such as a symbol above a name. Width still sets the limit. Extra height won't fix a headline that needs more horizontal room.

Keep the artwork in proportion. Stretching an 18 x 12-inch design to fill a 24 x 24-inch square distorts it; adapting the layout means rearranging elements. Planning a separate paper display? Our standard poster size guide covers that format.

When should you choose custom dimensions or a cut shape?

The Yard Signs custom-size controls list widths from 12 to 48 inches and heights from 12 to 96 inches. These are configurator limits. They don't mean every panel suits the same support, so confirm the available combination and mounting needs before preparing an unusually large layout.

Custom Shape Yard Signs offer Custom Shape and Circle selections. Circle presets are 12 x 12 and 24 x 24 inches; Custom Shape also lists 18 x 12 and 24 x 18 inches. Both offer Custom Size.

Shape affects your usable space. A circle lacks the corners of a square with matching outside dimensions. Keep the main wording within the broad portion of a cut shape, and ask for the product’s edge-clearance requirements before finalizing your file.

Which material and finishing options should you select?

All three featured yard sign products list 4mm White Coroplast. Political Yard Signs use that material too, with the same four preset dimensions as Yard Signs, plus Custom Size. The political product doesn't establish a different thickness.

Check where people will approach. Front Only and Front and Back printing are available, but a second printed face is useful only if people can see it. It doesn't give either individual face more room for the message.

H-stakes have Yes and No selections. Choose the hardware deliberately. Grommet options include none, two at the top and four corners, depending on configuration. Selecting a panel size doesn't confirm the hardware or how you'll support the finished sign.

No matte or gloss laminate is specified in these yard sign options. Need a particular surface finish? Ask before ordering, because the material name doesn't establish an additional coating.

How should you compare quantities and prices?

Yard Signs and Political Yard Signs each start at $1001.78 for the listed default run of 93 pieces, with a displayed unit price of $10.77. Custom Shape Yard Signs start at $1008.82 for the listed default run of 78 pieces, with a displayed unit price of $12.93.

Those prices describe the default runs. They aren't quotes for every size. Quantity menus include individual counts from 1 through 25, followed by selected larger quantities up to 200. Check your count in the configurator; the displayed default run isn't a minimum order.

Compare prices at the same quantity. Review size and shape, then check how printed sides and hardware affect your selected configuration. The final checkout price applies. Don't multiply a default unit price to calculate an unquoted order.

Does an acrylic sign belong in the same order?

Treat a wall sign separately. The Acrylic Standoff Sign starts at $1008.00 for the listed default run of 48 pieces, with a displayed unit price of $21.00. Listed dimensions include 12 x 9, 24 x 18 and 6 x 6 inches, depending on shape.

Acrylic choices include clear, white and black, with thickness depending on the selection. Review holes and standoffs separately. Sharing a 24 x 18-inch dimension with a yard sign doesn't make the materials or mounting arrangements interchangeable.

What should you check before uploading artwork?

Settle the panel dimensions first. Then follow the file types, bleed and safe-area requirements beside the selected product’s upload. A print-ready PDF can be useful, but a catalogue size alone doesn't establish the required artwork dimensions. Ask about missing requirements before building the file.

Check raster resolution at final print size, since enlarging a small image can make softness more visible. Review spelling and phone numbers. For two-sided printing, identify which artwork belongs on each face before payment.

A digital proof is available on request. Manufacturing starts immediately after payment. Resolve size questions and discuss any proof request before paying; uploading artwork or seeing a preview doesn't confirm production readiness.

Frequently asked questions

What is the standard yard sign size?

Start by considering 24 x 18 inches. That rectangle is a useful starting point, but Angels Print lists several presets rather than one universal standard. Compare it with 12 x 12, 18 x 12 and 24 x 24 inches before choosing.

Are yard sign dimensions width by height?

Yes, this guide uses width x height in inches. A 24 x 18-inch sign is 24 inches wide and 18 inches tall. That measures the panel only. Installed height and stake length are separate measurements.

Can I order a custom yard sign size?

Yes, through the Custom Size option. Angels Print’s Yard Signs product lists widths from 12 to 48 inches and heights from 12 to 96 inches. Confirm available combinations in the configurator, and discuss support needs for larger panels before ordering.

Do yard signs come with stakes?

Check the H-stakes selection before ordering. The featured yard sign products offer Yes and No options. A listed size or starting price alone doesn't confirm that stakes are included in your chosen configuration.
