A colored core sits between two printed faces, so the edge of the card shows a band of red, blue, black, or magenta while both sides carry your artwork. Total caliper lands at 38PT, closer to matboard than to paper. Rose Gold foil, Soft Touch Lamination, and rounded corners are all available on top of that. Runs start at 100 and go up to 5000. Designers, real estate agents, and salon owners order these when a card has to survive a stack on someone's desk and still get picked up.

Write a reviewTwo printed outer sheets are bonded to a colored center sheet, and the sandwich is trimmed as one piece — roughly 32pt total, about twice the thickness of a normal business card. The colored core shows as a clean stripe of color on all four edges, which is why people also search for these as triple layer edge or colored edge business cards. Both outside faces print full color and the finish is uncoated, so the card can still be written on.
On triple layer cards the color is a physical core inside the card, so the edge line is perfectly even and won't chip or wear. On painted edge cards the color is applied to the edge of a solid thick stock, which gives a richer, heavier band of color and can be done in colors that don't exist as a core sheet. From arm's length they read the same; up close, layered edges look crisp and precise, painted edges look hand-finished.
Core sheets come in the usual strong colors — black, red, blue, green, orange, yellow and white among them — and the live configurator shows what's currently available. The effect depends on contrast: a black core under light or white card faces is the most striking, while a red or orange core reads best against a dark, restrained front. Pick the core to match one accent color already in your logo instead of adding a fifth color to the design.
They can't be folded, scored or die-cut, and slot punches aren't practical at this thickness. Keep logos and text at least 1/8" inside the trim, since the eye reads any drift against that colored edge line immediately. The layers also have to be bonded and cured before cutting, so this stock needs the full production window — 24-hour rush usually isn't possible on triple layer cards.
