The part of the mailing that gets seen first

Envelope Printing & Direct Mail in Sun Valley, CA

An envelope is read before anything inside it is. Angels Print prints the whole range in-house: business #10 and #9, A-7 for invitations, booklet and catalog for anything that will not fold, square formats, and the small remittance envelopes that ride inside a statement or an appeal letter. Stock is uncoated throughout — 70# text, 70# linen, or 24# for remittance — because coated stock rejects ballpoint and every one of these ends up with something handwritten on it eventually. Color can run full bleed to the edge instead of stopping at a white border, windows are available for billing work, and variable data addresses the run as it prints.

What you get with Envelope Printing & Direct Mail

  • Full bleed printing that carries color to the edge of the envelope, instead of the white margin most envelope printing leaves behind
  • Variable data addressing: hand over a list and each envelope comes off the press already addressed, in the order you want it mailed
  • Remittance envelopes built to sit inside a statement or an appeal letter, on stock that takes ballpoint and gel ink without smearing
  • Uncoated and linen stocks throughout, so anything handwritten on the envelope stays legible
  • Windowed formats for invoices and statements, matched to the fold of the insert

Questions about Envelope Printing & Direct Mail

What is a remittance envelope?

The small reply envelope that rides inside a statement or a fundraising letter, so the person answering already has something to put the check in. Standard formats are 6 3/4 and #9. They print on 24# white uncoated text, which takes ballpoint and gel ink without smearing when someone fills in an amount or an account number.

Can the color go all the way to the edge?

Yes — that is full bleed printing, and it is available on #10, #9, A-7, booklet and catalog formats in 70# uncoated text or 70# uncoated linen. Most envelope printing stops at a white border because the press cannot run past the seam; ours prints the flat sheet before the envelope is converted, so the color carries right off the edge.

Do you address them for us?

Yes. Send a mailing list as a CSV or spreadsheet and variable data addressing puts each name on as the run prints, in mailing order. That is one job instead of printing blanks and running them through a second time.

What is the smallest quantity?

50 for standard formats. Full bleed runs start at 250 because the sheet has to be printed and converted. If you are testing a mailing, start at the low end and reorder — the artwork is already set up.

How far ahead should a mailing be ordered?

Standard turnaround is 3-5 business days, with a three business day option when the mail date is fixed. For a seasonal campaign, work backwards from the date you want it in mailboxes and add time for the mail house and for postal transit — those take longer than the printing does.
