Car Magnets templates

A car magnet is read at a stop light, from a lane away, for about three seconds. That budget buys a company name, one service line and a phone number — nothing else. These layouts also keep the design inside a curved-panel margin, because a door is rarely flat and the outer inch of a large magnet is the first part to lift.

100 starting layouts, drawn for 24 × 18"

Each one opens in the studio as editable layers. The wording is a placeholder — replace it with yours and the layout holds.

Sizes we print

4 sizes in 3 proportions — a layout survives a change of size, not a change of proportion, which is why the grid above is drawn for the size marked below.

How this file has to be built

Bleed 0.125" · safety 0.125"
Backgrounds run 0.125" past the cut line so trimming never opens a white sliver; anything that must survive stays 0.125" inside it. The studio canvas is the cut line itself — magenta edge — and the dashed guide inside it is the safety margin.
150 DPI at final size
Large format is read from a distance, so 150 DPI in size is the honest number — more is wasted file, not sharper print. Printed on one side.
  • · Measure the flat area of the door first — a magnet larger than the flat panel will not hold at speed.
  • · Phone number no smaller than 2 in tall; anything less is unreadable from another lane.
  • · Single-sided: the reverse is the magnetic face.

What it costs printed

Prices are the catalogue entry point for each item, computed by the same engine that charges at checkout. Stock, finish, size and quantity move the number — the configurator on each page shows it live.

Car Magnets questions

What size fits a car door?
18 × 12 inches suits most sedan doors, 24 × 18 suits vans and pickups, and 36 × 24 needs a genuinely large flat panel. Measure the flat area — not the whole door — before ordering.
How big should the phone number be?
At least two inches tall. A number that reads perfectly on your screen is invisible from the next lane at 40 mph.
