What is the difference between die-cut and kiss-cut?
Die-cut goes through the backing too, so you get a loose sticker shaped like your art. Kiss-cut cuts only the vinyl and leaves a square backing behind it, which is easier to peel, easier to hand out in a stack, and lets you print something on the border. Kiss-cut is usually the better choice for merch; die-cut looks better applied.
Will they survive outdoors?
Laminated vinyl will, for several years in Southern California sun — that is what goes on bumpers, hard hats and windows. Unlaminated paper label stock will not, and we will steer you off it if you tell us where the sticker is going.
How do I supply the cut line?
A closed vector path on its own layer, named so we can find it — magenta stroke is the usual convention. If your art has no cut line, send it anyway; we will draw one with a sensible offset and put it on the proof for you to approve.
Why is 1,000 barely more than 500?
Because most of the cost is setup and the cut, not the vinyl. The per-piece price in the ladder above is computed from the same engine that charges your card, so you can see exactly where the next tier stops being worth it.
