Kiss Cut Stickers in Los Angeles: What Gets Cut, What Doesn't, and Why It Matters

The key difference is the liner. A kiss cut follows the shape through the printed face and adhesive while the backing stays intact. A die cut follows the outline through the face and backing, leaving an individual piece shaped like the artwork. The printed design may look similar after application; the loose piece you hand to someone looks different.

Choose by the piece you want to hand out

Choose die-cut stickers when the whole loose piece should follow your artwork. Choose kiss-cut stickers when you want the shaped face to peel from a larger liner. That liner gives you room to grip the piece and supports fine edges while it is handled. It need not be a square; confirm the outer size and shape in your proof.

These two products are individual stickers. If your artwork needs several separately peelable designs on one backing sheet, use the kiss-cut sticker sheets product and specify the sheet layout. Do not assume the individual kiss-cut product includes multiple designs per sheet. For loose single pieces in a rectangle, square, circle or die-cut shape, there are also individual custom stickers.

Material and finish in the configurator

The default for kiss-cut stickers is White Matte Vinyl with Matte Finish. Its material choices also include uncoated and gloss paper, clear matte and clear gloss vinyl, holographic vinyl and silver vinyl. The available print-color and finishing combinations depend on the material. For example, the clear and specialty options offer a full-color-plus-white selection. Review the actual combination before ordering.

Lamination is an optional finish where the configurator offers it; it is not automatically included in the default. Raised spot UV and foil are also optional selections. None of these choices by itself establishes dishwasher safety or a particular outdoor lifetime. Tell us about water, abrasion, heat or cleaning exposure before choosing a material and finish.

The die-cut stickers configurator has its own material list: paper, white or clear vinyl, and holographic BOPP. Its default is also White Matte Vinyl with Matte Finish, and its finish choices vary by material. Compare the two configurators rather than assuming every option on one product exists on the other.

Artwork that cuts cleanly

Build the artwork at the finished size. If the outline matters, supply a separate closed vector cut path and clearly identify it. Keep small type and critical details comfortably inside that path. A thin border running close to the cut can look uneven after normal cutting variation.

Add bleed where printed color or an image must run to a cut edge. A design with an unprinted margin around the cut does not need a blanket bleed on every side. Confirm the required bleed and safe area for your selected size, material and contour in the proof or file check. Vector artwork is preferred for the cut path; raster art should have enough resolution at its final printed size.

The standard production choices differ between the two products, and faster options may be offered in the configurator. Check the displayed turnaround for your chosen specification, then allow for delivery separately. If the outside liner size, delicate cut details or intended surface are important, include them in the order notes before production.
