Here is what it does well, where the sun kills it, and when to spend more on acrylic or an A-frame instead.
- PVC Board: Thickness, Heat Movement & Where It Beats AcrylicExpanded PVC is the workhorse behind most storefront and interior signs in the Valley — light, waterproof, easy to cut and screw. Here is how to spec thickness, mount it so summer heat doesn't warp it, and when acrylic is the better buy.
- Gatorboard: What It Is, Where It Beats Foam BoardGatorboard is the rigid, dent-resistant cousin of foam board — great for gallery prints, trade shows and lobby displays, and wrong for anything that lives outside. Here is how we spec it, mount it and price it at our Sun Valley shop.
- Foam Board: Thickness, Mounting, and Where It Falls ApartFoam board is the cheapest way to put a big, flat, rigid graphic in a room — and the fastest thing to ruin if you treat it like a sign. What we check before printing one.
- Dry Erase Boards: Surfaces, Ghosting & Printed GridsWhat actually separates a whiteboard that still erases in year three from one that goes grey in six months — surfaces, marker chemistry, mounting, and when a printed custom board beats an office-supply blank.
- Easel Back Table Top Display Signs: SizingA countertop sign that stands on its own hinge is the cheapest way to put a message at arm's length from a customer. Here is how we size, build and print easel back displays at our Sun Valley shop, and when to use something heavier instead.
